Most study abroad programs or schools are strictly for gap year or college students, but it’s never too early to start exploring the world! This is a list of programs and schools I either considered myself or know someone personally that attended them to help you out if you don’t know where to start researching or applying!

CIEE

Semesters or year abroad, most involving heavy language immersion! You attend a local public school and live with a host family.

YFU

Semesters abroad in many different countries with language immersion as the main focus! Financial aid is available.

UWC

A system of boarding schools in 17 different countries that teaches the IB curriculum!

The Traveling School

A semester school for girls that travels through South America!

Alzar School

A semester school in Idaho and Chile that learns from the outdoors.

The Island School

Semester school in the Bahamas focused on marine studies!

THINK Global School

Boarding school that travels to 4 different countries per year and teaches through project based learning! (This is the school I attend)
